Alliant Credit Union Foundation Provides Grants to Assist United Airlines “Fantasy Flights”

Alliant Credit Union Foundation provided financial assistance to charity related Fantasy Flights held during December at major airports across the country. The United Airlines Fantasy Flights, coordinated by employees of the airline, provided a joyous holiday experience for many seriously ill or disadvantaged children and people with disabilities.

2011 Fantasy Flight

Fantasy Flights at various airports were actual flights or taxiway trips to "the North Pole", with passengers disembarking for visits with Santa Claus, great gifts, a festive lunch and other holiday activities. The grants from Alliant's Foundation were provided to help with these and/or other expenses related to the events. In all, the Foundation gave $12,000 via $1,500 grants for Fantasy Flights held at eight major airports in Chicago, Denver, Houston, Newark, Phoenix, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Washington, DC. The grants were presented to United Airlines officials by Alliant Credit Union employees in the various markets.

Alliant Credit Union employees also volunteered to decorate United Airlines North Pole departure and arrival gates and helped in other ways at several major airports from coast to coast.

Alliant Credit Union Foundation is based in Chicago at the headquarters of Alliant Credit Union, located near O'Hare Airport at Touhy Avenue and Wolf Road. The Foundation, registered as a 501c3 not-for-profit corporation, was established in 2009 via a $4 million grant from Alliant Credit Union, which is America's sixth largest credit union based on asset size with over $8 billion in assets. The September 2011 issue of Money Magazine named Alliant Credit Union to its list of Best Banks of 2011. The credit union has locations in the Chicago, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Newark, NJ, San Francisco Bay, Tempe, AZ and Washington, DC areas.
