Alliant Credit Union Foundation Donates $2,000 To Special Olympics

Alliant Credit Union Foundation recently donated $2,000 to Special Olympics Illinois on behalf of 40 Alliant Credit Union employee volunteers by paying their registration donations at the Plane Pull for Special Olympics, announced David Mooney, foundation Chairman & credit union President & CEO.

Two teams of 20 employees from Chicago-based Alliant Credit Union recently participated in the 2011 Plane Pull, held at Chicago's O'Hare International Airport. The Alliant teams competed among 25 others from Chicago area public safety, service and business communities who pulled a UPS cargo aircraft in a tug-of-war style event.

According to Ms. Sandy Beckman, Alliant's Supervisor of Member & Special Services, who coordinated the credit union's Plane Pull involvement, "Pulling that plane along the runway was unbelievable, and we really loved helping Special Olympics."

Wayne Rosenwinkel, Alliant Credit Union Chief Investment Officer and Foundation Vice President, volunteered for the event as well. He saluted all participating Alliant employees and said, "Our Foundation is delighted to donate to such a worthy cause. We really like supporting and encouraging Alliant employees who volunteer for charitable activities such as the Plane Pull for Special Olympics."
