The Alliant Credit Union Foundation is registered as a 501c3 not-for-profit corporation with the IRS. Initial funding for the foundation was established by a $4 million grant from Alliant Credit Union. Income earned on these funds will be used to carry out the foundation’s philanthropic activities.
The foundation contributes to worthwhile charitable and community organizations, with the advice of the Alliant Credit Union Civic Affairs Committee. Assistance is primarily in the form of grants in a manner consistent with the foundation’s mission. In addition, the foundation supports education related programs such as financial literacy initiatives.
The foundation is also committed to making substantial investments in community development projects, with emphasis on projects that enhance areas that need improvement, primarily in and around markets served by Alliant.
Our purpose is to promote economic empowerment and self-sufficiency of people, especially in the communities in which Alliant Credit Union members and employees live and work, through:
- Education. Offering and supporting programs which raise the level of financial literacy of both youths and adults while enlightening all people about the credit union difference.
- Service. Donating time, energy, and resources that improve the condition for those in need of assistance.
- Grants. Improving the lives of people through financial support.
- Investment. Providing community development investment dollars for projects and programs aligned with our mission.

I am pleased to present the Alliant Credit Union Foundation which was established to help people and communities via programs we support.
Civic Affairs
The foundation “gives back” to our members, communities and charities through initiatives coordinated by Alliant’s Civic Affairs Committee. This committee and many generous, civic minded Alliant employees offer their time, talents and donations to worthy causes. Through foundation funding, Civic Affairs contributes to charitable events, education programs and other helpful activities, in keeping with the foundation’s mission.
Financial Literacy
Through annual grants and dedicated Alliant Credit Union employee volunteer teachers, we work with an organization called Operation HOPE, which is dedicated to enhancing financial literacy across America. Our assistance helps young people learn to manage money and avoid financial mistakes. This leads to better quality of life and improved local and national economies.
